The client wished
to provide critical engineering services like maintenance,
enhancement, system upgrade etc. to business segments
within the organization. This would include delivering
on requests, maintaining stable and adaptable applications/platforms,
while simultaneously driving cost, quality and productivity
improvements on an ongoing manner.
The key challenge arose in defining processes for a separate
maintenance structure and in ensuring that the new structure
continuously improved productivity while reducing maintenance
costs. While defining such a structure, the business process
had to be understood and the expectation of the technical
and business groups had to be managed. |
